This Privacy Policy describes how BotBuster ("we", "us", "the service") collects, uses, and handles information when you use botbuster.xyz.
Public streaming data. BotBuster monitors publicly visible chat messages on Kick.com and Twitch to compute engagement statistics. This includes publicly displayed usernames, chat messages (processed transiently for counting — not stored individually), and channel-level badge values visible in Kick chat.
Kick account data (optional). If you choose to sign in with Kick, we receive your Kick username, display name, and profile picture via Kick's OAuth system. We do not receive your password or private messages. Signing in is optional and not required to use most features.
Usage data. Our servers automatically record standard web server logs including IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. These logs are used solely for security and operational purposes and are not shared with third parties. Logs are routinely purged.
Local browser storage. We store small amounts of data in your browser's localStorage (not cookies) to remember your preferences:
This storage is entirely local to your browser. No preference data is transmitted to our servers.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. We do not use your data for advertising.
The Chat Level leaderboard displays Kick usernames and their highest observed channel-level badge. This data is derived entirely from public Kick chat — the same information visible to anyone watching those streams. If you wish to have your username removed from the leaderboard, you may request removal via the contact method below.
Kick.com — Kick powers the embedded stream player and OAuth sign-in. When you watch a Kick stream via BotBuster, your browser connects directly to Kick's servers. Kick's own privacy policy applies to that interaction.
Twitch — Twitch stream data is fetched server-side from the Twitch Helix API. No personal Twitch data is stored beyond the anonymised aggregate statistics displayed on the site.
Google Fonts — This site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which may set its own analytics. If this concerns you, you can block Google Fonts via your browser settings or a content blocker.
Chat engagement statistics are held in memory and reset when the server restarts. The Chat Level leaderboard is persisted to a local file on the server. Server logs are retained for a short period for security purposes, then discarded. If you sign in with Kick, your session data is stored until you log out or your session expires.
Depending on applicable laws, you may have rights including access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you. To exercise any such right — for example, to request removal of your username from the leaderboard — please contact us using the method below.
BotBuster is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child's data has been collected, please contact us for removal.
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when the most recent changes were made. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
For privacy-related requests or questions, please open an issue at our GitHub repository. We will respond as promptly as possible.
